If Elections Fail: Smash in Case of Democratic Collapse

I will preface this by saying that I sincerely hope that there is no need to execute the contents of this post. These are just my thoughts on what needs to happen in case the majority of the American society feels it is time for mobilization against our government officialdom, and think it is a wise time to forcibly remove individuals from office. This is, as it were, my Omega Plan, in case a government gets so corrupt and so intent on working against the interests of the general society that they spark mass anger and resentment that boils over into a need to take action. 

My main rule is to keep in non-lethal. I do not condone lethal force against our opponents, and I do not condone inhumane treatment for them after they are captured. I think these are our brothers and sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, and parents. I think they are not healthy, cognizant, or coping well with the reality that the world is dynamic and diverse, and that they are actually a small and unnecessary part of that world (as we all individually are) that is creating a lot of damage to themselves and others through their narrowness of thought, and smallness of heart. Therefore, they need our understanding, love, and proactive attention. But I do not believe we should accept their behavior and outlooks on life and existence, nor do I think we should enable their delusions by entertaining them any longer in the political discourse. Again, this would be for their sake, and for our's. The sin isn't in ignorance, or in being wrong, but in refusing to acknowledge one's ignorance and incorrect responses to preserve one's own ego and (apparently fragile) sense of self-esteem (which the conservative Right seems to have in spades).

Two other things that also should be borne in mind by the reader:

1. These kinds of maneuvers can only take place if and where there is significant and potentially overwhelming opposition and indifference to the status of the existing officialdom. If you do not have that overwhelming support from society, and do not work actively to maintain that support throughout the campaign, consolidation, and maintenance phases of the transition to a different order, you will actually fail as an individual and as a movement to achieve the goals people need and desire. To put this in perspective, the American Revolution was, by many estimates, supported by roughly 40-45% of the white population, opposed by 20-25% of the population, and the remaining 30-40% indifferent or avoiding the conflict (Calhoon). You need people to either be indifferent, willing to passively support you through supplies, shelter, and intelligence, or actively and enthusiastically supporting and enduring the hardships of the campaign, and actively participating in maneuvers against the opposing people. So, no looting, no active harming of the civilians, and always work through conflicts within the ranks and with the civilian populations to preserve good relations with them. That is more important than winning battles, or gaining victories; our victories come from survival and maintaining good connections with people, not from winning individual engagements or displaying power.
2. Always remember that the real revolution happens when you institute a new and different system and logic of governing a people. It's not enough to win the war on the actual battlefield, but to do better at governing. That is what preserves the power and legitimacy of your authority, and that preservation of legitimacy is the key to maintaining your authority. This is why I will say again, that I think this can all be done without the use of arms or conflict; the goal for me isn't to win the battle in the field, but to institute new and actually more stable, functional, and useful forms and systems of government in our ecological-human world, for that ecological-human world.

With these concepts in mind, here is my Omega Plan:

Tactics for the street: borrow from legionnaire tactics, meshed with non-lethal ranged weaponry. Acquire and make large, broad shields, preferably ones you can see through. That's your first rank, and your flank defenses. This can be scaled, depending on the range capabilities of your unit; deeper means greater beef in the lines, but at the cost of putting ranged individuals farther away from their targets. I wouldn't recommend meshing the ranged individuals in with the melee defenses unless you're surrounded on all sides; in which case, it's up to the field commander on the ground to make the call to leave or fight on if that choice is available. Melee personnel should be equipped with batons, sticks, tasers, mace, anything for short range or hand to hand defenses. 

Ranged individuals should be armed with rubber bullets and bean-bag guns to stun opponents. Paintballs should also be included to blind opponents (especially helmeted or shielded ones). They should be behind the front line(s), or in the center of a formation surrounded by melee.

A critical component to this new style of fighting is film and media. It is important that every unit has assigned people with cameras from many angles to document the conflict for social media, news outlets. Remember, these units would be using non-lethal weapons while our opponents will likely be using lethal weapons. It is as important to document the atrocities that the conservative Right would visit on their fellow human-beings to justify their removal from the social scene as equal members.

Remember, participation in these endeavors should always be totally voluntary. All that I ask from non-participants to avoid the conflict, and to not hinder our operations. I promise that we are fighting a defensive war against a group of people who are perpetually living in a world of ignorance, and are posing as a danger to themselves and others. My aim is to get them into treatment and care, and to potentially remove them from positions they're not fit to serve in. I will start through elections, and continue to work through elections until society at large feels it is necessary for stronger actions against the Capitalists and the conservative Right who support them. Only society can end the conservatives' preventing overall social well-being, not the government or the official institutions of our society. It must be from the people themselves when they are ready. Otherwise, the effort will be a bust from the beginning, before we have a chance at making other mistakes along the path.
