Never Going Back

Once we taste true socialism as a society, there will be no voluntary returning to the times when people worked to produce profit for others' exclusive ownership. I dream of a day when people begin working together to produce their shared pools of wealth that get democratically allocated to each other and projects in the companies, instead of being used as a cog for someone else's profit. Imagine where people are protected from antisocial individuals and groups by a democratically operated government and community services, with effective, nonviolent feedback for officials, and aren't subjugated by those antisocial people. Imagine if we make our relations with other nations aimed at peaceful coexistence and mutual cooperation and support instead of playing brutish games of hierarchy and temporary status.

What a world that it could be! Same problems, same limitations, same natural laws. I just wish we could adapt our ways around those problems and problem people, without doing any actual harm or damage to them. That's all. A change in the logic, ethic, and design of public and private institutions. Doesn't matter who the staff is, so long as they're competent,  kind,  and well-grounded in evidence and evaluation technique. That's a lever we can use to conscientiously and intentionally shape ourselves, and our world, for whatever ends people desire and need. Just be careful of the consequences, and remember, no choice is a choice with its own set of consequences.
